Caprese Salad

This salad is an Italian favorite and with good reason, the salad is simple to make but the taste is extraordinary! The secret is high quality ingredients, tangy vine ripened tomatoes and creamy mozzarella cheese (buffalo mozzarella made from buffalo milk if you can find it) topped with fresh basil and a great olive oil make the perfect taste combination.  This salad goes perfectly with pasta, chicken and fish and will have you exclaiming perfecto!

Caprese Salad

6 medium very ripe tomatoes

4 oz. fresh mozzarella

6 large basil leaves

4 Tbsp. good quality extra virgin olive oil

Drizzle of balsamic vinegar

Sea salt


  1. Cut tomatoes and mozzarella into even slices. Layer them on a serving platter or four individual salad plates.
  2. Cut basil leaves into thin ribbons and sprinkle them over the salad(s). Drizzle salad(s) with olive oil and sprinkle with salt to taste. Serve immediately
